Rev. Fr. (Dayroyo) Mathew Karimpanackal
(Aji Mathew Cheriyan)

 

Born on October 8, 1972 to Mr. Cheriyan Abraham (Raju) of  Karimpanackal Puthuenpurayil, Cheppaud & Mrs. Mary M Mathew (Mukkottil Family, Kuzhikala).

 

Did his Bachelor of Hotel Management (B.H.M) from Mangalore University. After his mother’s death he turned to religion and did his Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) from the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological seminary, Mulanthuruthy, Kerala as the top scorer. Ordained as Mshamshono (Deacon) on 22 February 1998 by Late H.G Geevarghese Mor Gregorios & as a Qashisho (Priest) on 3rd July 2000 by H. G Thomas Mor Themothios at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Kottayam.

 

He completed his thesis on - "Role of monastic movement in the revival of the Syriac Orthodox Church "

 

Fr. Mathew had M.Th (Master of Theology) with 75% marks in Oriental Theology form Paurasthya Vidya Peedam (St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary ) Vadavathoor.

 

He was one of the editor of the Kottayam Diocese Magazine.

 

At present serving as Vicar of St. George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Simhasana Church in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

 

The Holy Episcopal Synod of the Malankara Jacobite Church has recommended 7 nominations for new bishops on 26 December 2009 to the Holiness The Patriarch of Antioch. Fr. Mathew Karimpanackal is one among this list , who might God willingly be ordained next year
